Young Adults Committee

The Young Adults Committee (YAC) consists of representatives from RBGA member schools and mentors from the RBGA membership. This committee focuses on the importance of guiding our young adults to give back to their community through outreach within the nonprofit organizations in the RBGA membership.

The high school representatives organize and implement a fundraiser each year while also hearing from local member non-profits in the Riverbend community. Proceeds from the fundraiser are used for the Scholarship Fund that will be awarded to one or more of the Young Adults students.

This committee meets monthly during the school year. The mentors on this committee work with the students on their fundraiser.

Board of Directors

The RBGA Board of Directors consists of individuals from member businesses nominated and elected by current Board Members to serve a three-year term and may be re-elected to serve a second three-year term. The Board acts on recommendations brought to it by the Chairman’s Committee that fosters the mission of the RiverBend Growth Association to attract, promote and support new and existing economic growth throughout the Riverbend community.

Ambassador Committee

The Ambassador committee represents the Growth Association as a public relations body. The main focus of this committee is to aid the Growth Association in maintaining our visibility in the community. The Ambassador committee provides this visibility by generously volunteering their time to attend our ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, open houses, and member events. They volunteer to work at our special annual events. This committee also assists in the recruitment and retention of the membership.

Small Business Award Committee

The Small Business Award Committee recognizes a Growth Association business for its outstanding efforts and leadership in the community. This committee solicits nominations from the RBGA membership. Once the nominations are received by the Growth Association, the business is sent an application to complete. Once applications are received, the committee reviews them and scores them to determine the winners.

This committee meets on the third Friday at 8:30 a.m. every odd month.
