GODFREY, IL – The RiverBend Growth Association has chosen TK Carpet Gallery as its June 2024 Small Business of the Month award honoree. And as owner Tom Neely has pointed out: “Staying in business for over 40 years as a local, independently owned and operated company means one thing for certain: You deliver superior products and service.”

TK Carpet Gallery is in Godfrey at 1100 West Homer Adams Parkway. The company offers free estimates, and they sell, remove, re-stretch, install, and clean all types of flooring – from carpet, including indoor/outdoor, to hardwood, engineered wood, vinyl, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, sheet vinyl, tile, and engineered tile.

They also provide upholstery and area rug cleaning services and, if needed, they will pick up and drop off a customer’s items before and after cleaning within their service area. Some other lesser-known things about TK Carpet: They sell flooring remnants and provide installation and removal services for showers, trim and backsplashes.

So, what else sets them apart from the competition? Neely says, “TK Carpet provides experience, expertise and service that have kept its customers coming back for the past four decades. It is important that you deal with a business that will be here in the coming years.

“Here at TK Carpet, we have been able to showcase our skills, accomplishments, and qualities to be an excellent business choice to fulfill our customers’ needs. We consistently meet our customers’ needs, and it builds a strong bond. And by meeting their specific needs, our revenue also continues to increase by attracting more customers,” he adds.

Neely employs six, with three experienced installers working with him to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner. The employees are naturally on point with all work orders assigned to them, Neely notes, and they are dedicated to their work. “Every employee at TK Carpet learns from every experience,” Neely says further.

Another ingredient to TK Carpet Gallery’s more than four decades of success? Neely reveals: “Regularly revisiting and updating our business plan helps remind us of the changing market conditions and the need to respond to them. An up-to-date plan helps identify what action we need to take to change our business and the way it operates.”

Community support has always been a part of the business’s daily practice as well, as the company has supported many charitable efforts over the 42 years they’ve been a part of the Riverbend region. “With four decades of providing reliable value to the community, TK Carpet also makes many donations throughout each year for community development, various organizations’ trivia nights, fundraisers, and by helping those for generations to come through donations for scholarships,” Neely shares.

Throughout its history, TK Carpet Gallery has had several changes to its physical location as well. More recently, improvements have included adding a sign on the rooftop to go along with their streetside neon signage.

Neely summarizes his reflection on these past four decades with these words: “We have both commercial and residential customers, and we are looking forward to serving our community many years to come.”
