GODFREY, Ill. – The membership numbers continue to grow and thrive in the RiverBend Growth Association as eight more businesses joined its roster at year’s end and with the start of a new year.

New to the Growth Association membership are Martin Coaching and Consulting, 99 Creatives, Nimbus Technology Solutions LLC, Box Mercantile LLC, OSF HealthCare Rehabilitation, The Marketing Midwife, Second Generation Distribution and Wood River Business Alliance.

Martin Coaching and Consulting is owned by Katy E. Martin. With an office located at 200 W. 3rd St., Suite 401 in Alton, Martin says she is a business performance coach who has come from both corporate and small business world backgrounds to build and train several teams in every area of business. “I’m a business builder, mentor, automation and team building expert,” Martin notes.

“What I do in five words: Build and scale your dream team,” she adds. “Managing different leadership and personality styles over the years has given me the wisdom on what types of company cultures jive with certain personalities. Having a proven method to find the right people will speed up your growth plans, reduce turnover and solidify your company culture.”

Martin is hoping that, by joining the RBGA, she can connect with other local businesses and help them grow. For more information, visit online at katyemartin.com or call (618) 226-5316.

Nimbus Technology Solutions LLC is in Alton as well. Director of Client Services Joe Downer notes that the firm has joined the RiverBend Growth Association to put the business in front of other business owners that have a need for services, “I am further hopeful that I can help those that may have had previous bad experiences to trust in I/T again. I/T support is a need for many businesses, no longer a simple want,” he says.

“I have worked for multiple managed service providers (MSPs) and have seen things done multiple, different ways,” Downer adds. “But I have also seen things done the same way for the wrong reasons. I know that businesses who provide I/T support have struggled to move from ‘break/fix’ to ‘managed services,’ and there are a lot of stories of those MSPs getting a bad wrap or businesses having very bad, expensive experiences with those MSPs.”

Through membership in the Growth Association, Nimbus hopes to gain further exposure, awareness, and growth through “simple word-of-mouth referrals.”

“In the world of I/T support, Nimbus Technology Solutions stands out as a nimble, cloud-focused partner with over two decades of experience in the tech industry,” says Joe Downer further. “Our specialty lies in aiding businesses that have surpassed their current I/T capabilities while remaining budget conscious.”

Joe Downer is the resident I/T expert at Nimbus, described as a versatile professional who has worn many hats, from technical support to sales, and now director of Client Services. His background includes system security, infrastructure management, network optimization, server administration, and tech upgrade implementation. As a support specialist, Downer is motivated to provide prompt issue resolution and client satisfaction.

Jamie Downer is the managing director at Nimbus. She has a bachelor’s degree in business with a marketing focus and a history of running her own successful business. Her expertise and leadership, combined with Joe’s technical proficiency, has established Nimbus as a woman-owned business delivering comprehensive I/T solutions.

Box Mercantile LLC is located at the historic Grafton Bank, 225 East Main Street, Grafton. Owned by Patti Box, husband Gary is her helper and “handyman extraordinaire.”

Box says it’s been a longtime dream of hers to own a shop, and she has visited Grafton since she was a child. “Fond memories of family road trips up the River Road, taking in the sights, watching the hawks and eagles fly overhead, eating catfish fritters and peanut butter pie at Brainerd’s, and loving the home-cooked goodness from Grandma’s Kitchen has anchored by love for this river town,” she says.

After visiting Grafton often over the years, the opportunity arose for the couple to have their own business there, and as she notes, “the timing was right.” They found an ideal location and have been warmly welcomed by other businesses and residents alike, as well as by Grafton Mayor Mike Morrow, his wife, and the mayor’s administration. The Boxes are looking forward to growing their business, becoming part of the Grafton community, and giving back whenever possible.

Within the walls of Box Mercantile LLC, visitors will find a wide assortment of souvenirs and gifts for everyone on their lists, and even something for themselves.

Box notes that they have joined the Growth Association to expand the reach of their business, something they might not be as able to do on their own. She says that they have joined “to expand our reach for our business, but also to mingle; to get to know and learn from other business owners as well as people within the local communities.”
