GODFREY, Ill. – Another five new members have been added to the roster at the RiverBend Growth Association over the past few weeks. New members added include Dedicated Self Storage LLC, JSK Cleaning Inc., Positively Clean, Safe Food Specialist, and Tarrant & Harman Real Estate and Auction Co.

Dedicated Self Storage LLC is in Godfrey at 7300 Timbercrest Drive. Its location is central to the Riverbend, with easy access to its footprint at the junction of US Highway 67, Interstate 255, and Highway 111. The facility is just under a mile from downtown Godfrey and Walmart Supercenter and offers 24/7 safe access to customers with its state-of-the-art security systems in place.

Founded in 2022, they celebrated their first anniversary in business on April 1. “We were excited to celebrate our first anniversary,” noted Dan Halloran of Dedicated Self Storage LLC.

“Our team is committed to making the storage experience as convenient and hassle-free as possible,” Halloran added. “Customers have access to a variety of unit sizes to fit their specific needs, as well as amenities like drive-up and 24/7 access. Our property is equipped with advanced security features such as video surveillance and eight-foot fences, and is well lit at night, to give customers peace of mind when storing their belongings.”

Halloran further noted that Dedicated Self Storage LLC, as a local business, is dedicated to giving back to the community. “We work regularly with other small businesses in Godfrey to purchase cross promotional items, advertise for them, and approach each day with an ‘all-ships rise’ mentality,” he said.

“Our goal in joining the RiverBend Growth Association is to glean numerous benefits, including networking opportunities, professional development, increased visibility, and access to resources and support. It may also provide opportunities for professional development and education, which can help us stay up to date on industry trends and best practices,” Halloran said.

“We believe that the RBGA can provide a platform for us to showcase our offerings and services to a wider audience, potentially leading to increased visibility and customer acquisition. Membership may also provide access to resources and support such as marketing and business advice that can help us overcome challenges and achieve our goals,” he added.

JSK Cleaning Inc. is a professional, eco-friendly cleaning company from Jerseyville that specializes in residential cleaning services. Jennifer Kallal is its owner and CEO.

For the past nine years, Kallal has developed systems and processes as a part of JSK’s service that she says gives her clients the best cleaning experience possible. “I am devoted to my business because it gives me a true feeling of joy to know that my clients get to enjoy more time doing what they love by using my services,” Kallal said while further noting that customer satisfaction is the driving force behind all that JSK Cleaning does.

“As a business owner, I felt that joining the RBGA would be a great way to gain insight into how other local businesses interact and help each other be successful,” said Kallal. “I am really looking forward to meeting, and learning from, other local small business owners. There is no better way to learn than through working with others, especially those who have already found success in what they do. I hope that some of my experience and skills may be found useful by others in the association. There is so much to learn from working together as we all have a common goal: To be successful in all that we do.

“Owning a business is easy; owning a respected and successful business takes dedication and hard work. Learning how other business owners overcame pitfalls that so many small businesses fall into is extremely important to me,” she added. “Starting a business is challenging. Without constant research and education in your field you can quickly fall behind. The networking opportunities available in the RBGA will help me improve my business in ways that I would not be able to on my own. I also know that growing my business allows my family, employees, and clients all to benefit from its success.”

In her spare time, Kallal enjoys spending time with her own family, including her husband and two children. She also enjoys crafting and volunteering her time as a Girl Scout troop leader. She is a lifelong Riverbend resident and has lived in Jerseyville for the past 27 years.

Positively Clean is a locally owned and operated business headquartered in Alton that started in 2021. Its owner, Joanna Allen, first noted that the firm’s mission is “Making your space a more positive place!”

“We provide services for commercial and residential clients in the Riverbend area, and up to 30 miles from Alton,” Allen added. As the company’s CEO, Allen maintains a positive face and voice behind all aspects of Positively Clean. It is this outlook, accompanied by a meticulous attention to detail, that Allen says separates her services from the competition.

Allen said that her business was joining the RiverBend Growth Association “to grow revenue, to grow my network of referral partners, and to reach more potential clients to achieve our goal of being the best cleaning company in the Riverbend area.”

Safe Food Specialist is a local, female-owned company that educates individuals on food safety. Based out of Alton, Linda Petterson is its owner.

Online classes and exams are offered through its website that include food handling, allergen awareness, sexual harassment, and BASSET alcohol seller/server training. An ANSI Certified Food Safety Manager Certification can also be achieved by completing the eight-hour instructor-led class offered through Safe Food Specialist and passing the proctored exam. This certification is valid for five years across the United States.

As member of the RiverBend Growth Association, Petterson noted that she can further her outreach to the community. “My burning desire is to educate everyone on food safety, not just the individuals that work in a facility that requires certification,” said Petterson.

“I hope that whenever anyone, and especially businesses and organizations serve food to the public, thinks of food safety, they will think of Safe Food Specialist and Linda Petterson first!” she added.
