GODFREY, IL – The RiverBend Growth Association has chosen Tassinari Insurance Agency as its Small Business of the Month award recipient for August 2024.
With its office at 2720C Grovelin Avenue in Godfrey, Tassinari Insurance Agency has been in business now for four years and has three employees. Its mission: To serve the community by providing auto, home, life and commercial insurance with the best possible service.
“Because insurance is not a one-size-fits-all, I am in business as an independent agent to provide options for our community and find the best coverage and price,” says Owner Steve Tassinari. “The thing that sets us apart is the same thing that I am most proud of – we work for our customers and not a company. We have many companies to look for the best coverage.”
Tassinari Insurance Agency has the ability to offer many coverage and pricing options for customers while also having a market for all types of business risks.
“And I have the best team,” Tassinari adds. “We work together for all our customers, and for each other. We will meet with our insureds before or after hours as well as on weekends if needed. We will even provide a ride when going to a claim.”
Tassinari notes that, just as it was for so many others, Covid was a challenge for his agency. “Opening a business during Covid was a challenge. The community was shut down and residents were not going out. Not many people were wanting to meet face-to-face, although it was a good time to discuss policies because people had time and were looking for ways to save money and not sacrifice coverages.”
The greatest opportunity in running his business, however, as Tassinari adds, is that the agency can provide coverage and options for all individuals and businesses, knowing everyone is protected in the ways they need to be. “The positive feedback, and developing new friendships and relationships along the way, are an added bonus,” he says further.
Along with the added insurance carriers that Tassinari Insurance Agency has onboarded so that more options are available in both commercial and personal lines, the office offers notary services and operates with a central management system in place. “This makes it easier and more efficient to serve our insureds,” says Tassinari.
The staff are also continually trained and updated to stay current in the industry. “We do have weekly team meetings to continuously look for new and better ways to serve our insureds,” says Tassinari. Staff also can take part in continuing education and ethics classes.
Knowing the importance of engaging with the Riverbend community, agency staff volunteer their time as bell ringers during the holiday season to raise money for the Salvation Army as one way to help make the community a better place. Another way they help do that is by giving their time to work at Alton’s Christmas Wonderland at Rock Spring Park. Tassinari’s team further donates money, coats, toys and clothes to various charities along with volunteering to serve meals to those in need.
